1948 Chuck Helm opens ‘Helm of SV’ ski & fly-fishing shop
1965 Fred Sturtevant (Durango, CO) buys the company, and moves the shop from Sun Valley Road (now F-Stop), to the current Main Street location - formerly known as the Wooden Spur Saloon.
1972 Fred sells to a Seattle group which opens a "Sturtevants" in Bellevue, WA
1982-83 Alex Orb & Rob Santa buy Sturtevants of Sun Valley
1987-88 Opening of Sturtevants -Greyhawk in Warm Springs Village (base of Bald Mountain)
Fall 1997 Opening of Sturtevants -Hailey (formerly The Hearthstone Restaurant)
Fall 1997 Opening of Sturtos – Ketchum (formerly BurgerHaus)
Jan 2001 Rob & Deb Santa become sole owners of Sturtevants
Jan 2002 Sturtevants named “Business of the Year” by SVKCVB
May 2005 Acquisition of Headwaters & Wood River Outfitters - Sturtevants becomes Sturtevants Mountain Outfitters and offers guided fly-fishing
2010 Bicycle Retailer & Industry News (B.R.A.I.N.) names Sturtos as one of the Top 100 Bike Shops in North America
June 2010 An online consumer poll contracted by the Idaho Mountain Express names Sturtevants “Valley’s Best” - BEST SKI SHOP, BEST BIKE SHOP, BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Oct 2010 SMO earns a steelhead guiding permit
2011 B.R.A.I.N. & Mtn Express Awards – recognized again!
July 2011 Sturtevants is awarded GUIDED MOUNTAIN-BIKING & HIKING permits in the Sawtooth & Salmon-Challis National Forests & SNRA.
January 1, 2013 NEW OWNERSHIP! Olin Glenne and Ben Jacobsen buy Sturtevants and return to the original name of Sturtevants of Sun Valley
May 1, 2013 Sturtos - Hailey is sold to longtime manager Jeff Davis
