Warm Springs Store and Sun Valley Mountain Guides Manager
With the the re-opening for our Warm Springs store for the Winter season, this couldn’t be a better time to introduce (or reintroduce, if you have the pleasure of knowing him!), Chris Rybak. Chris couldn’t be a better fit for our team at Sturtevants. Coming from a lifelong background in skiing, Chris brings a wealth of knowledge to both racing and freestyle skiing, where he got his start. Chris is originally from Pine, Colorado but began his skiing career in Winter Park, Colorado. Chris broke onto the competitive mogul skiing scene in his late twenties, where he made his mark in several world cup starts.
After his professional mogul career began to wind down, Chris remained in Winter Park where he was the head chef and co-owner at Winter Park Sushi Bar. Chris and his wife Esther have a five-year-old daughter Taylor, which prompted them to move to the beautiful Wood River Valley in 2010. Chris started working for Sturtevants shortly after moving to the Wood River Valley, and now is the manager of our Warm Springs store and the co-manager of the bike shop along with a few guest appearances as a chef at Sushi on Second.
Chris is also a freestyle mogul coach at SVSEF during the winter, and although his background is in skiing, he has gained plenty of experience in fly-fishing and mountain biking; two of his favorite activities, and hopes to begin guiding fishing and biking trips in the future. Chris has plenty of accolades in competitive mogul skiing, but he is most proud of being the three time reigning friends & family Pumpkin Carving Champion, and of course his daughter Taylor. Chris is a big part of our family at Sturtevants, and is a great guy to have a beer with, or take care of any or your skiing and biking needs.
