Haus Store Manager
Sean McEntee moved to the Wood River Valley in 1998 to bike for a summer, and as the story goes, when the snow started flying, decided to stay indefinitely. Born and bred in Rhode Island, Sean combines his east coast work ethic (and sarcasm) along with his friendly demeanor and knack for understanding people’s needs to his position as Store Manager of the Rental Haus. A passionate mountain biker and alpine skier, Sean takes great pride in getting people on the right gear so that they get the most out of their experiences.
For the first nine years of his life in Ketchum, Sean worked in several of the local shops, including Sturtevants, before he took a job with Higher Ground Sun Valley, where he directed their Military Program for five years. We are stoked to have lured him back to the gear world where he not only brings expert knowledge but keeps customers and staff smiling.
Sean lives in Ketchum with his wife Randi, their two little daughters, Hannah and Zoe, and their dog Millie. When Sean isn’t at work, he’s the official “logistics and gear manager” of his family. He’s also frequently seen smiling on the hill or on the trails—depending on the season.
Sean’s philosophy can be summed up by Ferris Bueller: “Life goes by pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around every once and a while you might just miss it.”
