Hello Anglers– It is game on out there. Green Drakes have made there debut on the Big Wood in the South Valley and the fishing is great. They will move up river approximately mile or so a day. Hit the hatch between mid morning and early afternoon. Little Yellow Sallies, Pink Alberts, and golden stones have provided some great results in the afternoons on the Big Wood throughout Ketchum and North. Small Caddis, and Mayfly patterns are bringing fish to the surface on warm springs. trail creek is fishing well with a small hopper and a red or black zebra Midge dropper. If you’re nymphing on the Big Wood, warm springs or trail creek try a size 14 Flash Back Hare’s Ear or Prince Nymph. Copper Basin is coming into its prime with a big bushy stimulator drawing up fish from the deeper pools. with temperatures soaring this week fishing on silver creek is best in the early mornings with Calibaetis and Damsel Fly nymphs being the name of the game.
